Product Review:Maybelline Water Shine lip gloss

Maybelline Water Shine lip gloss – I am a huge fan of wearing heavy make up in day time… even on casual night outs too I prefer to wear light makeup lip gloss, kajal and a touch of mascara on my eyes and  I am good to go…Cool
So I switched on to wearing lip-gloss long back, and keep on trying various brands which I will keep updating here but today I am all for Maybelline water shine range of lip-gloss.

I got 19 Pink Glitters water shine lip gloss. Here is how it looks on back of my hand.
Price: Rs 180
Net content: 3ml
Very affordable and one lip gloss will last about 3-6 months depends how often you use it one bottle will last from 4-5 months if you use it 2-3 times in a week.
Packaging
It comes in an attractive little bottle with a doe- foot applicator which helps to take out the required quantity and easy to handle and glide on lips.
It promises a diamond lip shine and moisturised lips at the same time.

Other shades of Maybelline lip gloss are :-
Coral Sunset 02
Crystal Amethyst 07
Strawberry Carats 08
Chocolate glitters 12
Caramel pearl    09
Clear Gloss 500
Beige Sensation 541
Pros:
First thing which I like about this lip gloss is that, it is non drying, non sticky and moisturizing too.
It doesn't have taste or lingering smell as I absolutely don’t apply lipsticks or gloss to taste it J It does makes my lips look shiny  and glittery in subtle way so that they look more fuller but not in a very frosty/cheap way.
Lot of colour choice is available I picked four swatches.
Cons
Only things which i could find flaw with is its staying power ,but than I have to still find a lip gloss which stays for more than 3-4 hours so this one also holds provided you are not sipping from your glass too muchWink.
My Verdict: Its must buy if you like the light feel of lip gloss with the right kind of shine. I will rate it 8.5 – 9 on the scale of 10 as far as performance is concerned.

Product Review: Lakme Peach & Plum Daily Glow Moisturiser

Recently I have bought this moisturiser after reading its review on website; Most of us use moisturizers daily and as I look back its been part of my routine from as long as I can remember.
In those days it was lakme moisturizer or winter care lotion used to be hot favourites as I grew up kept experimenting with various other brands, After reading about it I again got tempted to try it out so got this one.
Price
Available in 55ml for Rs. 75, 100ml for Rs. 130 & 200ml for Rs. 210
It’s economical as far as price concerned.
Key Ingredients
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), Peach (Prunus Persica) Extract, , Plum Fruit (Prunus Domestica) Extract
What it Claims
This is the info which I got from Lakme website
"Enhance your skin’s natural radiance and protect it from the sun with this 12-hour daily moisturiser with sunscreens. Every drop is infused with peach and plum concentrate that soften your skin, giving you a radiant glow. Peaches are a natural source of AHAs that boosts your skin’s natural resilience against wrinkles, dryness and sun damage. Vitamin-rich plums give you younger looking and glowing skin".
My Experience with the Product
As the product contains peach extracts it does have a peachy fragrance ,on my normal skin it provided enough moisturization and made it smooth in this weather of march, but in winters I need to have extra moisturization. As moisture does not last that long it is not the thing for me.
What I like
It is easily absorbed by skin giving it a smooth feel does not give a sticky feeling , I like the packaging for color and its handy to carry in your bag.
It contains sunscreen so no need to use separate sunscreen protection product.
What I don’t like
I would like to have it provide little more miniaturization.
It is claimed to have sunscreen in it, but SPF level is not mentioned ,would loved to have that info.
Miniaturization effect doesn't last very long, my skin started to feel dry after 4 hrs and I have to re apply it again.
My Verdict:
It is economical product so you can use it if you like fragrant moisturizers, I personally don't like fragrance in my beauty product, I would use it on lesser sensitive areas of your than my face.

Product Review: Khadi Kesar Scrub

Recently I have been hearing a lot of buzz about khadi products, so I went and bought 2-3 things including this kesar peeling scrub and two types of soaps. It was truly amazing to see the product range available there…there were almost 30-35 products available there and each one of them was smelling truly heavenly.
Kesar Peeling Scrub Gel
Price
Available in 210 ml for Rs. 135.It’s economical as far as price concerned.

Key Ingredients
Rubia cordifolia, Rosa alba, Crocus sativus, Juglance regia, Sodi biboras, Glycerine, Carbopol, Preservative, Aloevera tourn, purified water.

 What it Claims

This is the info which is printed on product bottle
“A powerful blend of natural scrubs which helps to clean dead epithelial cells of the skin. It nourishes the skin making it clean smooth and soft.”

My Experience with the Product
Bright orange colored gel which is thick and contain small black granules for scrubbing action. First thing I noticed is it smells heavenly which is kind of mix of kesar with a hint of rose. When I applied it on my face it gives a tingling feeling and After scrubbing it for 3-4 minutes and washing I felt noticeable difference my skin felt very smooth and their was visible glow.

What I like
It is a Khadi product and contains natural and herbal ingredients.
My skin felt very soft and glowing after applying this and smell very nice even my daughter also liked the fragrance and said “Mum you smell nice”.
Skin felt moisturized after using this unlike many other scrubs which make your skin feel dry and stretched.
Even small amount of product is good enough for your face and  neck so it will last longer.

What I don’t like

Though there are hardly anything to dislike this product my only complaint is packaging as gel is thick so a squeezable tube would have been a better choice, moreover while I flipping it open its lid got broken may be I was in a bit too much hurry in my enthusiasm J.
My Verdict:

It is very good product and on the top of it very economical too. Kind of those which I would like to buy again.

I would rate it at 8.5 on the scale of 10.

Lakme Enrich Satin Metallics Lip Color

“Smooth, glossy lips kissed with the luxurious conditioning of Vitamin E. Blended with Sunscreen and Olive Extracts for a creamy coat of lush color. Available in many shades developed especially for Indian skin tones”. This is what I read on lakme website before purchasing a enrich satin metallics lipstick.
Generally I like to use lighter shades or just lip gloss, but sometimes when I want to go for a nice made up look I go for lipsticks. This time when I went lipstick shopping girl on the counter really got me interested with all her salesperson talk that I wanted to try it.

After testing it there on the back of my hand I liked the color and rich feel. Out of seven colors available I went for shade no 419 which is somewhat close to coral red. When I came back home I tried it on my lips.
My Experience with It
It is mostly a collection of warm colors with a hint of metallic sheen most of them designed to suit Indian skin and complexion. It felt smooth on my lips and glided very easily and provided a rich pigmentation (A little too much for my liking). It dried up my lips and I felt my lips chapping up. Stays on lips for 3-4 hours if you don’t drink any thing.
Next time I applied it I used lip balm on my lips before applying this, drying effect was not there now:). It stayed about 2 hrs and than started fading away.
This is how it looks on the back of my hand.
Price
Lakme enrich lipcolor priced at Rs 255 for 4.4ml.
What I liked about it
Its rich color and the way it easily spread on my lips, overall texture gives you a matte effect so that makes it a good day wear, only if you like to wear darker and richer shades during day.
What I did not like
  • I did not like the dried up and chapped lips feeling when I applied it without smoothening my lips with lip balm.
  • They could have packaged it more attractively didn’t quite like the burgundy colored shiny tube gives a cheepy look.
My Verdict
I will rate it 6 on the scale of 10 will think before buying it there are much better option available in this price range.

Have you tried any of these? What are your favorites?

Khadi Mogra Glycerin Soap

Khadi has launched various Ayurvedic products which are herbal and most of them contain natural ingredients. I bought these glycerine body wash of two varieties Mogra and Chandan. This one is about Mogra which is also know as Jasmine.
What it Claims
"An Ayurvedic body wash cleanses the skin and body dirt. It removes dead cells from the skin giving smoothness and soft feeling".
Key Ingredients : Jasmine, Ghartkumari, Haldi, Lodhra, Padmakh, Madhu, Glycerin, Purified water, Base.
Price:  Rs 45 for 125 g
My experience with the product
First thing I noticed about it was the smell, as the main ingredient suggests this soap has amazing floral fragrance which is very soothing. I am a big fan of aromatherapy so keep looking for naturally fragrant products. Soap is gentle on the skin as it contains glycerine, does not have drying effect on skin and leaves behind a lingering fragrance not only on your body but your bathroom smells good too.
What I like about it
  • Soothing smell helps you to de-stress.
  • Made up of herbal ingredients and no harsh chemicals are used.
  • Unlike many other herbal soaps it lathers well.
  • Surprisingly it does not turn pudgy after 2-3 days like many glycerine soap becomes. It stayed dry and in shape.
Things which I don’t like
Like other khadi products this one is also up to mark but Rs 45 for 125 little on expensive side.
My Verdict
7.7 On the scale of 10. Worth buying and trying at least once because there are so many varieties available and I want to try each one of them.

Khadi Mauri Herbal Anti-Dandruff Sat

 Saturday, April 16, 2011

“A complete and long lasting solution to your dandruff problems .It contains a combination of strong anti-dandruff herbs like henna tulsi neem, rosemary, and dhtura which effectively cleans the scalp from all the dandruff and scurf without damaging the hair”.
This is what company says about Mauri Herbal anti dandruff scalp therapy.
Price
Mauri herbal anti dandruff is Priced at Rs 90 for 21 ml bottle.

Key Ingredients
Henna leaf, Neem leaf, Lemon fruits, Bichho booti leaf, Rusmari leaf, Dhatura leaf, Purified water, Sles, preservatives.
My experience about the product
Cool green colored thick liquid like texture which spreads very fast. Their packaging tends to be little boring with plastic bottles and very simple black and white labels. Though it is not that good smelling like few other khadi products I have tried but not bad too. After application on my scalp I massaged it in my scalp and hair for 3-4 minutes and rinsed off. I have been using this for past 2 weeks and result…. It works. There is considerable reduction in dandruff.
What I like about this product
  • Gives a clean feeling even when you are applying it and massaging it in your scalp.
  • Unlike other dandruff treatments it doesn't make your hair dry and dull.
  •  Like other khadi products it is made with natural ingredients.
What I don’t like
  • Tacky packaging but than most of the khadi products are packaged that way.
  • I don’t find the smell very appealing though it is not that you immediately dislike it.
My Verdict
If you have dandruff and want effective treatment without damaging your hair with harsh chemicals which generally other anti-dandruff treatment contain, go for it!

My rating for this would be 8.8 on the scale of 10.
